This French very old floral brocade braid is a very amazing find. We can only guess at the many wonderful ways it was used many years ago. We are guessing it was used to trim furniture, hat boxes and even clothing. We can imagine it as wide cuffs on a long coat, adorning pillows and cushions, edging bedspreads and even used in costumes and ballet clothing for the stage.
It is very wide at 17 cm (6.7 inches approx) and the very subtle colours of antique peach against a background of antique cream with pale olive leaves and gold thread highlights makes this an exquisite antique braid to use in many many different ways. It is also extremely soft and fluid to work with.
We will not be able to get more when our treasured stash sells out and it is indeed very treasured. We LOVE it.
Sold in one yard lengths if you order more than one yard it will be cut in a continuous piece.
